Hammersmith Academy celebrates continued Oxbridge and A-Level success
The Academy celebrates continued A-Level success and surpasses last year’s Oxbridge achievement with students gaining places at both Oxford and Cambridge.
- In total, from a cohort of 85, there were 135 A*-C grades awarded
- 83% of students exceeded their target grades in at least one subject
- A quarter of all students exceeded their target grades in all subjects
The Academy’s Careers Lead, Sophie Harrowes, said “It is wonderful to see our extensive personalised one-to-one expert support throughout the UCAS process yield such great success stories. Our students have really benefited from the mentor programme we have developed alongside St Paul’s Girls and St Paul’s Boys School. It is great that we are establishing a reputation for getting students into the very best universities in the country.”
Headteacher, Gary Kynaston, said “The Academy and I are absolutely delighted with the A-Level results that this year’s cohort has achieved. To have students going to both Oxford and Cambridge, as well as the Russell Group universities, reflects the level of dedication our students and staff put in. What’s really pleasing is the upward trajectory the Academy Sixth Form continues to travel in. Not only that, this past year our Sixth Form has been ranked the number one state Sixth Form in the borough based on pupil progress and we expect to retain that high level of progress this year. Whether you are a student who started in Year 7 or joined us in the first year of Sixth Form, you are capable of achieving your very best at Hammersmith Academy. All of this cements the faith we have in our professional approach to education and study. Thank you to the dedicated staff and the parents who have supported their children throughout their Academy journey and we wish the students the best of luck in their futures.”
