The Collett School is a special educational needs (SEN) school providing a very supportive and caring environment for young people from nursery age through to secondary. The school is the only SEN school in Hertfordshire, catering for 4 to 17 year olds, and the lowest funded.
WCIT provided an outline design for the school's wireless network, which halved the cost of the solution originally proposed, thereby improving the schools wireless network and allowing the pupils to better access learning resources, the internet and social media in a structured and supportive environment. With funds being extremely limited the school were faced with the decision of buying the tablets and not being able to afford the wireless network or vice versa. The WCIT Charity provided funding for both the network and a LearnPad Tablet classroom bundle including eight LearnPads with accessories.
