On 2nd November, the Garden of Remembrance was opened at St Paul’s Cathedral, marking the start of a month in which the lives of those lost in war are remembered.
Senior Warden Chris Histed placed a cross on behalf of WCIT during the ceremony, along with Masters from the 110 Livery Companies, the Lord Mayor, plus other City of London, military and Royal British Legion dignitaries.
The moving ceremony included the Last Post and Reveille, a two-minute silence, and Sara Jones CBE JP, President of The Poppy Factory delivered the Kohima Prayer:
'When You Go Home,
Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Your Tomorrow,
We Gave Our Today'.
