The University of Hertfordshire has awarded Past Master Jo Connell OBE DL, Deputy Lieutenant of the County, an honorary doctor of letters. The award is in recognition of her outstanding record of public service in Hertfordshire, in particular her contribution to charity and long-standing relationship to the University.
Jo Connell has used her professional skills to make a real difference to the local community – most notably through her charity work with older people and her contribution to the University’s success, as Chair of the Board of Governors for more than a decade. In 2012 she received an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List for services to older people, principally through her work with Help the Aged for 18 years. To see the full
