On Wednesday, 31st October 2012 Women in the City announced the seven outstanding women who won their category for the Women in the City Woman of Achievement Award programme for 2012. The Category Award winners were named at the Women in the City Celebration event sponsored by Lusso and held in the Museum of London, Docklands.
ITC endorse the Technology Category, which is sponsored by Google. The judging panel for the 2012 award was composed of: Kerri Mansfield (Chairman and Court Liveryman), Jonathan Soar (Deputy Master), Jane Moran (Freeman), Kirstin Duffield (Freeman) and Fiona Herring (Google). The panel were delighted to announce Emma McGuigan as the winner in the Technology Category.
The judging panel believe that Emma was the best candidate for the award as she has a clear focus on the promotion of women, through her internal company organisation as well as via outreach programmes with schools and other bodies and initiatives. Emma has shown herself to be highly competent and an extremely pleasant person to interview. In terms of winning the category award this will bring both Emma and her team additional impetus in the initiatives they are pursuing, will show what women can achieve both internally and in the wider scope of the City business arena and will encourage others to follow in her footsteps.
There are seven categories and the overall winner will be announced at a Celebration Lunch, on 23rd November at Plaisterers' Hall. Background to the awards process can be found at: www.citywomen.co.uk
The lunch is a celebration of women in the City of London and provides a great opportunity to meet many other women from all areas of business.
