On Saturday 7th October 2017, the Royal Corps of Signals Defence College of Information Systems ran its Gordon’s Cup military skills at arms competition at Blandford Camp, where the soldiers of 11th (RSS) Signal Regiment put their training into practice in an 11 hour exercise.
The Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor, Dr Andrew Parmley and the Lady Mayoress (and WCIT Junior Warden) Wendy Parmely attended the Gordon Cup competition, with me as WCIT Master - and were looked after by CO Lt. Col. Jardine and RSM Richie Savage. The Lord Mayor presented the Gordon Cup itself, and the cup for the best shot in the competition was presented to the winner by me. The City of London visitors were very impressed by the soldiers and their skills.
The affiliation between the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and the Royal Signals is 25 years old in 2017.
