What is a Smart Building?
- What constitutes the Smart Workplace, the Intelligent Building or the Smart Building?
- What is the Cognitive Building?
- How much ‘smart’ do we really need?
This session looks to explain how new Smart Technologies impact different stakeholders of buildings and workplaces, and how they should be considered at very different times in the development and fit-out of a building. Who is responsible for getting these facilities in place and who benefits? How does any Return on Investment work for an occupier? What is the benefit to a developer and is this cost justifiable?
How will the operation and occupation of a building change in the future and how does that differ from the environments most have today from a wellness, sustainability, efficiency or productivity perspective?
In his presentation Nigel outlines the Smart Building Maturity Model and explains the potential benefits and challenges of deploying a Smart Building. Nigel will then give some advice on how to take a Smart Building from vision to reality, taking a look at the core Smart Building tech needed on Day 1.
