The 2018 Northern lunch for City of London Liverymen and their guests will be held in Leeds on Friday 25 May, at the magnificent Royal Armouries, one of the finest museums of its kind in the world.
The museum, which houses the National Collection of Arms and Armour, was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 1996. The many thousands of exhibits, from mediaeval times to the present and far too numerous to display at their previous home, the Tower of London, are arranged in themed galleries over several floors, all with lift access.
The Brigantes Breakfast provides the perfect opportunity for Liverymen from all City of London Livery Companies to meet together in the North. The 2017 Brigantes Breakfast at St Georges Hall, Liverpool, was attended by 420 Liverymen and guests, with 84 Companies represented. This year each Liveryman will be able to invite up to three guests. Masters will be processing into lunch. Dress code is lounge suits, and badged but not gowned.
The formal part of the proceedings will conclude by 16.00, with further socialising for those who wish. The cost for this memorable occasion is £97.50 per person plus a £2.00 donation to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund. If you would like to tour the museum galleries, the Royal Armouries opens at 10.00 and closes at 17.00. Entry is free.
