Intellect is the trade association for the UK hi-tech industry. Our members comprise organisations both large and small from the UK's information technology, telecommunications and electronics sectors.

The British Computer Society was established in 1957, BCS is the leading body for those working in IT.

With a world-wide membership now over 50,000 members in over 100 countries, BCS is the qualifying body for Chartered IT Professionals (CITP).

BCS was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1984. Its objects are to promote the study and practice of computing and to advance knowledge of and education in IT for the benefit of the public. BCS is also a registered charity.

The City of London Corporation provides high quality services for the City, for London and for the country as a whole. It is the equivalent of a Borough or Town Council, while also promoting the world's leading international financial centre.

It is the third largest sponsor of the Arts in the UK and responsible for preserving the City's heritage.

The Lord Mayor is hoping that many of the livery and many businesses will volunteer time to support financial literacy in schools; there is lots of information about the intiative on the website. Supporting financial literacy in schools is surprisingly easy and might only take a few hours; you do not have to work in the world of finance to understand budgets/ good rates for loans/ why you might want to take out a pension etc.
