"In 2003, I founded an online publishing company, PublicTechnology.net. We provide websites, email services, events and direct marketing for public and private sector IT clients. Before that, I held COO roles at Parliamentary Communications Ltd, silicon.com, FT.com and BSkyB.
I joined the Company because I wanted a focused, structured way of giving something back to the industry. I’m now a Liveryman, and am about to become chair of the Education and Training Committee. I worked closely with Lilian Baylis school to raise funds and put together their successful bid for specialist status. There’s still so much I want to do, I reckon it’s going to take me 30 years to work through it all! It’s great to know I’ve got the Company behind me."

"I graduated with a BSc in Computation from UMIST. I initially pursued a technical career and progressed into management with ICL, where I was actively involved in graduate recruitment.
In 1982 I moved into executive search and selection. Since that time, I have filled many IT Director appointments within a wide range of blue chip organisations as well as a variety of senior management positions within technology companies. In addition I obtained an MA in Human Resource Management. After a very successful executive recruitment career with PA Consulting Group and Odgers, I established my own business in 1999.
I am a Member of the British Computer Society, The Institute of Directors and the Institute of Management Consultants; I am a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development; and a Liveryman of the Information Technologists Company."

"I am Deputy Master of the Information Technologists’ Company, the 100th City of London Livery Company. I was a Freeman of the Company since 1996, I chaired several committees, and I'm currently leading the team seeking a Royal Charter for the Company. My theme for the year is “professional values”.
In my 40 year career in the IT industry I have had wide ranging roles, including board level appointments in Australia, Germany and the USA as well as in the UK. I worked for ICL and in 1999 I founded eManagement to provide strategic and project services to central government and industry.
I have successfully guided cultural and organisational changes through major projects in both the private sector and government. In the 1990s I was project director at the Department for Trade and Industry where I developed and launched the Information Society Initiative.
I was President of the British Computer Society and initiated and championed the Professionalism in IT programme. I have been a council member of the Institute for the Management of Information Systems, chairman of the Real Time Club and a council member of the Parliamentary IT Committee. In 2009 I was honoured by the International Federation for Information Processing for my work on the international programme for IT professionalism.
I was educated at Stockport Grammar School, founded in 1487 by a Lord Mayor of London and probably the oldest school associated with a livery company (Goldsmiths), and I am a mathematics graduate of the University of Manchester. I am married to Beverley, have a son and daughter and in my spare time I enjoy sport, food and wine, travel and philately."

"I am a solicitor. Before my legal career, I was an IT professional in systems analysis and project management for several years. My firm, Burnett IT Legal Services, works in the field of commercial contracts and the provision of legal advice to IT businesses and customers. I will be installed as President of the British Computer Society at its AGM on 31 October.
I am enthusiastic about contributing to the Company’s connected objectives of charity, education and fellowship. ITC is highly influential in promoting an understanding in business and the community of the immense scope of IT, and it effectively harnesses IT’s massive potential to benefit a variety of charitable purposes. ITC is unique in operating at the cutting edge of information and technology innovation, yet within the City’s proud historical tradition."
