04/03/2010 Arranged by the Poulters, the 6th Inter-Livery Pancake Race took place on Shrove Tuesday, 16 February, in Guildhall Yard.

This was the first year that the ITC had entered a team. The team consisted of: The Master – Charles Hughes; A Lady – Deputy Master Jo Connell; A Liveryman – Jolyon Parsons and a Novelty Race entrant – Freeman John Duggan. All funds raised went to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal – the London Symphony Orchestra and the Cricket Foundation. These were represented in

17/02/2010 Senior Warden of the Information Technologists' Company, Ken Olisa, is also Chairman of Thames Reach, a charity to help homeless people. In this capacity, he topped the not-for-profit sector at the Non-Executive Director of the Year Awards run by KBC Peel Hunt and sponsored by The Sunday Times.

27/01/2010 The Information Technologists' Company was the charitable beneficiary of the sixth annual e-Government National Awards dinner in January, an event founded & organised by Court Assistant Chris Histed. Master Charles Hughes collected the donation of £1,500, the event's MC was Clerk Michael Grant, and the new Beadle Jamie Wallace was in attendance. The guard of honour was formed by the Company of Pikemen & Musketeers of the Honourable Artillery Company.

The City has elected Nick Anstee as the 682nd Lord Mayor of the City of London, to serve from Friday 13 November. Alderman Anstee, who served as Sheriff of the City from 2003 to 2004, is an eminent City figure, a senior director of the international law firm SJ Berwin and chartered accountant with a long-standing commitment to public service.

10/07/2009 A new board game 'The City of London board game' has been launched to support The Lord Mayor's Appeal and the Lord Mayor's Show.

City of London is an exciting contest of discovery, chance, suspense and fun for 2-4 players aged 10+. One way of winning is to reach the Mansion House to become Lord Mayor of the City of London.

10/07/2009 The Information Technologists' Company congratulates Alderman Mr David Wootton on his election as one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London for the year ensuing. David is a Liveryman of the IT Company (as well as a Fletcher) and a Court Liveryman Elect.

Our Livery Company looks forward to supporting David in any way that he requires over the forthcoming year.

He will be installed as Sheriff on 29 September. HIs fellow Sheriff will be Peter Cook, a Plaisterer.

13/05/2009 The commemorate the 800th anniversary of the completion of the first stone London Bridge, the Lord Mayor's Appeal has been granted permission to close the bridge and organise an Anniversary Fayre, to include a sheep drive.

This will take place on Saturday 11 July and will be open to non-Freemen of the City of London as well as Freemen.

The beneficiaries of the 2009 Lord Mayor's Appeal are St John Ambulance London (Prince of Wales) District and the Lords' Taverners.

15/04/2009 The Lord Mayor, Alderman Ian Luder, gave a speech to the Masters, Prime Wardens and Upper Bailiff of the Livery Companies of the City of London at the Mansion House on 26 March 2009.

He mentioned the work of groups of Companies, among them the Financial Services Group, on which the ITC is represented by Junior Warden Ken Olisa and which supports his visits abroad, as well as the Livery Wood Group and the Water-Related LIvery Companies Group. Master 2008-2009


Josephine Connell was installed as the third female Master of the IT Company on 8 October 2008. She has worked in the IT industry for more than 40 years at companies including Mars, Aspro-Nicholas, CMG, and most recently as Managing Director of Xansa formerly FI Group, which is a leader in terms of encouraging flexible working, especially for women.

09/07/2008 As part of its links with the Royal Corps of Signals, the IT Company is supporting the Defence College of Information Systems at Blandford's Gordon Cup bi-annual military skills competition, where the young soldiers of 11 Signal Regiment put their phase 2 training into practice in an 11 hour exercise on Salisbury Plain.

10/10/2007 Former IBM UK Holdings Director to Lead Livery Company as Colin Knight Steps Down

London 11 October 2007: David Morriss has become Master of the Information Technologists’ Company following a ceremony on 3 October. David has worked in the IT industry since 1966 holding several positions within IBM and consultancy roles following his retirement. He replaces Colin Knight following his year’s tenure.

The father of the web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, is certainly not short of plaudits - but last night he had yet another reason to feel proud.

The famed techie, who founded and directs MIT's World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), was awarded the 'Freedom of the Information Technologists' by the City of London's 100th livery company, the Information Technologists' Company.
