Recognising innovation, professionalism and best practice, the BCS IT Industry Awards were announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 4 December. With IT at the heart of modern day life and business, the awards recognised a wide range of organisations, individuals and projects, three of them being presented to Liverymen of the IT Company:
Tom Ilube collected the BT Flagship Award for Innovation awarded to Garlik for its DataPatrol technology. DataPatrol was developed in response to the evolving world of identity theft and is the world's first semantic technology platform that aims to give consumers power over their privacy and identity online. The project also collected the web-based technology award.
David Morriss, Deputy Master and a previous President of the British Computer Society, was presented with a life time achievement award by Alan Pollard, the new BCS President, who is also a Liveryman. Michael Grant, ITC Clerk, was one of the judges.
