Most of our charitable activities are carried out through 'Panels' - groups of our members who come together to deliver projects in areas of common interest. The current Panels in the company are.
Some of the current and recent projects delivered by our Panels include:
ITC’s Recreation and Leisure Panel has been working with the Royal Chelsea Children's Hospital School (CCHS) over a ten year period. The school caters for children whose illnesses stop them from attending a traditional school and the Panel has worked with the staff at the school to provide the children with the latest technology to assist their learning. The latest stage of this project will enable teachers across four hospital sites to share information and work more effectively together, and allow house-bound patients to take part in lessons remotely.
The network model developed for the Royal Chelsea Children's Hospital School was subsequently incorporated into Demelza House, a new children's hospice in Kent. This proved very successful in providing access to IT both to the children staying in the hospice and their siblings and families. The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys then selected this initiative as their millennium project, providing project management to roll out the model (which has grown to include Xboxs, Internet access, wide screen Sky TVs and digital cameras) to every children's hospice in England. There are now 39 children's hospices in the 'Lifelites' network – and it’s growing. Launched as an independent charity in August 2006, and still benefitting from the expertise of ITC members, they need now to seek charitable sponsors and donors to help them continue to develop their work for all the new children’s hospices being built, as well as maintaining and upgrading the existing projects on a regular basis.

In May 2005, the Impetus Trust asked the Company to help develop an ICT strategy for a Cambridge-based charity, Speaking Up. Speaking Up provides an advocacy service for people with learning difficulties and advises organisations that serve this client group. John Milner, chair of the Community Panel, reviewed the charity’s IT needs and recommended a standard Microsoft small business infrastructure. He then persuaded The FullCircle Ltd to implement the strategy at a heavily discounted cost. More
The Company’s Arts Panel has been helping arts organisations on a one-to-one basis for many years. In 2004, we joined forces with the Baring Foundation to create and deliver a three-year programme on Best Practice in IT Management for Arts Organisations. The programme comprises four annual workshops on key IT topics. Output from the workshops is available online, and ITC members from the Arts Panel are available to help with specific issues. The programme has also facilitated a peer support network where arts organisations can share their experience of dealing with common issues such as box office management and contact databases for performers. Organisations participating in the programme include the National Theatre, the Royal Opera House and the Hackney Empire.
Our members are currently working with a number of other charities. These include:
