Welcome to the website for the new Information Technologists Company - Best Entrepreneurial Team (ITC BET) Awards, which highlights the Best Entrepreneurial Teams in the UK who significantly embrace information technology within their businesses.

Venture capitalists acknowledge that the most important factor in their investment decision making process is the entrepreneurial team rather than just the lead entrepreneur. And yet until now these entrepreneurial teams* have not been recognised publicly. The ITC BET Awards has been launched to change all this by recognising dynamic entrepreneurial teams from successful growth ventures that are technology based, knowledge based or make use of significant IT resources. Winners will receive an engrave trophy and £5,000 in cash to be donated to the team’s favorite charity, as well as significant media coverage and the opportunity to network with some of the movers and shakers from the IT industry and business angel/venture capital community.

To register your nomination for the new ITC BET Awards go to the BET Awards Nominations form and complete the nomination contact information requested. MDs/CEOs of nominated companies will be advised by emailed of your nomination and requested to complete an initial entry form.

How do Entrepreneurial Teams qualify for the ITC BET Awards?

Entrepreneurial Teams must be from companies that are pre-IPO (i.e. privately held excluding MBI/MBOs and corporate ventures) and have completed at least 3 years, but no more than 10 years trading. All Entrepreneurial Team members* are required to complete two online questionnaires taking approximately 45 minutes in total (business plans and portfolios are not required). Data will be collected via these online questionnaires between 15th December 2006 and 28th March 2007 and will be treated in strictest confidence. However, anonymous data will be used for a study into the Characteristics of Entrepreneurial Teams being conducted at Henley Management College. A management report on the findings of this study will be provided FREE to companies taking part in the ITC BET Awards and to those making the nominations. Companies short listed will be required to present highlights of their business activities to the panel of judges at the ITC Hall in London on 19th April 2007.

*Entrepreneurial Team Members

Entrepreneurial Teams consist of two or more people who are the founders and/or senior managers of early stage companies, as defined by their MD/CEO. Non executive directors are not included.
